Hanukkah is only two days away!

Hanukkah’s only two days away, and if you still need gifts you may be in some good company. For the next few days, we’ll be writing about some last-minute gift ideas for Hanukkah that you can get at nearby stores, or make yourself (without being Martha).
Here in the U.S., many non-Jewish people think of Hanukkah as an eight-day Christmas, if they think of it at all. Truth is, Hanukkah isn’t a major holiday, but it is celebrated by many as an alternative to Christmas. If you want to learn more about Hanukkah’s history, the Wikipedia article on Hanukkah is a pretty thorough starting point for some basic information on the history of this festival.
